Description and Usage:

X-Plended (Rosuvastatin) 5mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia (elevated cholesterol levels) and dyslipidemia (abnormal lipid levels), including:

• Hypercholesterolemia: Elevated levels of total cholesterol and/or low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).
• Mixed dyslipidemia: Elevated levels of LDL-C, triglycerides, and low levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).
• Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia: An inherited condition causing extremely high levels of LDL-C.

Rosuvastatin belongs to a class of medications known as statins. It works by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a key role in cholesterol synthesis in the liver. By blocking this enzyme, Rosuvastatin reduces the production of cholesterol, leading to decreased levels of LDL-C (“bad” cholesterol) and triglycerides, and increased levels of HDL-C (“good” cholesterol).
