• Sitagliptin: Inhibits the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), leading to increased levels of incretin hormones such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). This results in enhanced insulin secretion and decreased glucagon release, ultimately reducing blood glucose levels.
